I’m Matt’s wife, Lauren, and I’m so excited to be a part of this business adventure with Matt. Since you’re going to be hearing a lot from me in the coming months, and hopefully years, we figured it would be good for me to introduce myself.
I grew up in a small town called Spencer in central Wisconsin. My dad’s family is from Negaunee, so the U.P. has always been very near and dear to my heart. Throughout my childhood, I spent many summers in the U.P. and truly felt at home here. I have been living in the Marquette area for 10 years now. I graduated from Northern Michigan University and have been an elementary teacher in Negaunee for the past four years.
There are very few occasions more joyous than someone’s wedding day (the only thing I can think of is the birth of a child). Ever since I was the flower girl in my cousin Heather’s wedding, I have loved all the traditions, the colors, the flowers, the dresses, that surround a couple’s day. Since that wedding, I’ve stood in ten weddings in the last ten years. It’s been an honor to have been a part of so many beautiful friends’ special days. Even though Matt and I are already married, I still find myself checking out wedding ideas on Pinterest from time to time. Being married myself has made me even more sentimental!
As I continue to find my place within Matt’s business, I hope to help our couples as they plan out the timing of events during their wedding day. While it’s important to know that not everything will go as planned, it is so helpful to make sure that the timeline of your day is realistic, that you’ve allowed enough time for travel between venues and photography locations, that you know what family combinations you’d like to have, etc. I have learned so many tricks and tips from being a bridesmaid and planning our wedding, that I’d love to help brides work through their concerns about timing and planning in hopes that their day will run as smoothly as possible. I’ll be there on the wedding day to assist Matt in gathering the people needed for photos, but I want you to know I’m there to assist you as well!
Until Next Time,
P.S. That photo was taken at 5:30am before her first day back to teaching! It's insane she can look that good so early!
