Faith's Senior Photos

There’s a saying, “Happy is the bride it rains upon.” After shooting Faith’s senior portraits on a drizzly evening in August, we feel that we can also say, “Happy is the senior it rains upon.” The conditions weren’t what we had planned or hoped for, but we were all thrilled with the final results!

We see so many seniors and photographers in the Marquette area choosing places like Black Rocks, Founders Landing, or Presque Isle for their portraits. That’s all fine and dandy, but Matt and I love when clients choose locations that are especially meaningful to them for their portraits. Faith’s choices were classic examples of how to use the places that are important to you to help capture YOU just as you are! We shot her softball pictures at LaCombe Field in Negaunee, Michigan. We also took some photos in her great grandmother’s backyard. The old barn and flower gardens provided great backdrops for Faith’s photos. Last, we went out to her family camp in Gwinn to take some sunset photos by the lake. None of us were sure whether we’d get the rain to go away, but in our last attempt to get our remaining shots, the sunset turned out to be glorious! With the help of some umbrellas, Matt and Faith braved the rain and the lake for some of our favorite shots of the day!

While Pinterest inspiration and being up on the latest styles and makeup can sometimes be helpful, we always feel a little sad for seniors who choose to be so glammed up for their portraits that they don’t even look like themselves anymore. Styles and trends will fade, but nothing can replace seniors making choices like Faith did to just be herself. Her portraits are sure to stand the test of time because she remained true to who she is. Congratulations, Faith! You are going to do great things!
